Funambol e’ una piattaforma opensource in grado di gestire la sincronizzazione di dispositivi mobili e push email. La startup ha sede in California ma e’ stata fondata dall’italiano Fabrizio Capobianco ed il team di sviluppo si trova in Italia.

Hanno recentemente sviluppato un servizio mobile VoIP in partnership con Jajah, chiamato GoJajah.

Funanmbol ha annunciato oggi la propria soluzione per servizi mobile VoIP che consentira’ a societa’ come Truphone, Fring o Nimbuzz di integrare le funzionalita’ di sincronizzazione contatti sviluppate da Funambol.

Funambol, a venture-backed open source mobile “cloud sync” company, announced a service it says will allow mobile VoIP uses to meld contacts from a number of end points, including mobile phone contact directories, email and social networks. The company said this service, which it sells through to mobile VoIP providers, helps mobile VoIP users to access more contact info and therefore increase the utility of their mobile VoIP service.

The service also reportedly tracks changes in contact numbers, automatically updating users’ address books in the cloud.

“Several of our customers are mVoIP providers that sync user address books with email systems and social networks,” Fabrizio Capobianco, Funambol CEO, said in a release. “They selected Funambol because open source lets them fully customize the solution to support their needs and target devices.”
